“Sonification is the rendering of data into sound (typically non-speach) designed
for human auditory perception. The informantional value of the rendering is often
unknown beforehead, particulary in data exploration” – Alberto de Campo

Laika analyse the data from the satellite according to the current location.
In other words, it tracks exactly the movement of the satellites above our heads.

The amount of traffic is enormous, and usually we are not aware of this “phenomena”.
Sonification is an art form that combines science and establish a different view,
sometimes more subjective as an info-graphic (or Auditory information display),
but not meaning less important, actually it takes advantage of the underlines of sonic understandings.

Every Satellite ID is translated to a synthesizer definition as well as his azimuth, elevation,
translated in a surround (7.1) sound system. The time scaling may variate according to the data and location.
The code is open-source using SuperCollider as a platform base for Sonification.

Iphone Forensics – Magnetismus and the pass used future

Unterwasser is a concept of an installation sensor-based on
Magnetism.
These sensors do now appear in select
commercially available consumer devices and hence
promise a potential wide availability.

The idea is to have the mobile device be an independent
source of sound on its own. This requires that the sound
generation also be embedded on the phone itself.

For the internal process it will be developed a magnetism based argument communicating SuperCollider,
controlling granular audio synthesis, with the mobile device (iPhone).
For a design conception, it will be built a round object containing a ferrofluid substance immerse in trans-lucid oil,
together with the Iphone, transforming this hybrid into a bulb light instrument that can be played by the users with a magnet.

Open control for graffiti and more devices. Two voices inside work with the same chip
but with two types of capacitors that modify the relation between every part of the circuits inside.
There are two inside oscillators with a knob control, two volume controls, four in lines and two audio out lines.
This machine is able to read a graffiti on a paper, or a contact produced by a human body, a joystick and all
other kinds of signals. The connection with this machine changes the relation between the frequencies offered by the system.

A little boy closed his eyes before he went to sleep.
He thought about his lunch in the school, how the leafs are
green and if u look it really close u can see some small veins,
like the ones in the neck. He started to count how many of
them he can see. 1, 2,1,3 … the numbers start floating away,
dancing in the black sky of his brain, changing colors, going up
side down and suddenly….one of them start to make a cintilante
sound, like a bell made of a fine glass. The other number got it
excited and try to imitate or follow the first one. They got lost,
and back again, and a strange symphony was making the boy go
deeper and deeper in his blackness. He hear Fibonacci when he sleeps.
.

a three steps project assignment by the name “power of 2″, was the starting point for
the realization of this piece of work. first step was to produce 32 lines of program code in a language
of our choice. by having a keen interest in chaotic and mathematical processes we put our focus on
programming a plotter to produce complex chaotic sound, with Super Collider, using the function QuaD.
.

When we know that we really understood something?

To be able get close to one idea, we need a lot of different inputs, experiences, that will
tell in different voices what does it mean. Its a infinite search for layers and more layers of understanding.

Once up on a time, I try to understand the mathematical world, written on a blackboard, was beautiful.
I could see how this language represents the existence, the movement, numbers . But i knew that I was
so far from understanding a equation, as i know now, that i will never will. I need to see more than numbers.
I need to draw, I need things that work with numbers, I need sound and relationships, I need applications,
and then, I have a slight idea, I have a intimate connection, not just by my brain, but how it feel, and than
I can rationalize about it.

And then, I can pretend that I know.
.

<a href="http://en.wikipedia.org
/wiki/Fibonacci_number”>Fibonacci

the second step was to use 16 pieces of electronic modules. The working pair of numbers was transformed into an Arduino script,
choosing and playing a array of rhythm in solenoids. It creates a sound output from this number relationship.
Provoke another kind of understanding.

{ extract from wikipedia

Lagged Fibonacci generators have a maximum period of (2k – 1)*2M-1 if addition or subtraction
is used, and (2k-1) if exclusive-or operations are used to combine the previous values. If, on the
other hand, multiplication is used, the maximum period is (2k – 1)*2M-3, or 1/4 of period of the
additive case.

For the generator to achieve this maximum period, the polynomial: y = xk + xj + 1 must be primitive
over the integers mod 2.

Values of j and k satisfying this constraint have been published in the literature. Popular pairs are:

{j = 7, k = 10}, {j = 5, k = 17}, {j = 24, k = 55}, {j = 65, k = 71}, {j = 128, k = 159} [1], {j = 6, k = 31},
{j = 31, k = 63}, {j = 97, k = 127}, {j = 353, k = 521}, {j = 168, k = 521}, {j = 334, k = 607}, {j = 273, k = 607},
{j = 418, k = 1279}

[2] Another list of possible values for j and k is on page 28 of volume 2 of The Art of Computer Programming;
the values listed above are in bold face:

Note that the smaller number have short periods (only a few “random” numbers are generated before the first “random”
number is repeated and the sequence restarts). It is required that at least one of the first k values chosen to initialize
the generator be odd.

It has been suggested that good ratios between j and k are approximately the golden ratio[citation needed].

putting it all together in step three, we build up 8 boxes with measurements based on the golden cut. the
outcome so far is now a sound installation with the concept of putting a different form of understanding to complex
mathematical systems, so letting the listener experience a more subtle type of understanding.

and garbage. Everything has influence on the audio line out, creating a symbiosis between all the
